Creekmoor Elementary, Raymore-Peculiar R-II

Creekmoor Elementary is located on the northern portion of the Raymore-Peculiar School District in Raymore, Mo.  We are the home of the Cougars, where approximately 508 students attend school kindergarten through fourth grade.  Ray-Pec started its PLC journey nearly 10 years ago, and Creekmoor is currently in its third year of training from regional specialists.
Our mission is to prepare EACH student for a successful and meaningful life.  Our school culture revolves around the premise that when we establish meaningful relationships with students and partner with parents, all will achieve at high levels.  Teams are “data-driven focused” to work together towards providing students opportunities to experience success.  With this foundational belief, teams routinely conduct intentional collaborative dialogue around answering all four corollary questions:  What do we expect our students to learn?  How will we know they are learning?  How will we respond when they don’t learn?  How will we respond if they already know it?  Additionally, we partner with our students and teach them the importance of learning and tracking their progress. This allows teams to remain focused and productive.
Creekmoor has a deeply implemented intervention process for students in need of additional assistance.  All students participate in a school-wide intervention program that focuses on missing and foundational skills.  These skills are identified through layered collaboration sessions with key stakeholders by following our meeting structure and collective agreements, commitments and norms.
Creekmoor continuously monitors the effectiveness of our PLC process and have made substantial progress school-wide, however we realize there is still work to be done. Over the past several years, student scores have continued to grow, yet we remain proficiency driven for all students.  At Creekmoor Elementary, we understand we must continually challenge the status quo and hold each other accountable professionally.
